Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her assist and dedication to improving upon South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) products and services through an engagement while using the agency's senior administrators at a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled in the 2024 matric examinations.
Of your 724 156 full-time learners who registered for your National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% on the registered pupils in the schooling sector.
These learners achieved a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates that the investment government is generating from the life of poor and vulnerable youngsters is yielding a constructive impression in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
Reflecting on recent achievements, the Minister highlighted important milestones and ongoing priorities. She committed to urgently addressing the issue of lasting leadership appointments as well as lack sassa grants of personnel at most regional workplaces.
In addition, the Minister highlighted the need for Group-based engagements and outreach pursuits.
